Find Municipal Hebesatz
Calculate Taxes
How This German Corporate Tax Calculator Works
This calculator estimates corporate taxes in Germany by combining federal corporate tax rules with municipal trade tax (Gewerbesteuer) based on the selected city’s Hebesatz (tax multiplier).
Corporation Tax (Körperschaftsteuer)
All corporations in Germany — including GmbH, UG, and AG — pay a flat 15% corporate tax on their annual taxable profit.
In addition, a 5.5% solidarity surcharge is applied on the corporate tax amount.
This calculator automatically includes both components to show the true federal tax burden.
Municipal Trade Tax (Gewerbesteuer)
Trade tax is a local tax and varies by municipality. Each German city sets its own Hebesatz, which directly affects how much trade tax a business pays.
The calculation follows the official German formula:
- A standard base rate of 3.5%
- Multiplied by the municipal Hebesatz
- After applying the €24,500 trade tax allowance
By selecting a municipality, the calculator instantly applies the correct Hebesatz to reflect real-world tax conditions in that city.
Total Tax & Effective Tax Rate
The calculator adds:
- Federal corporate tax
- Solidarity surcharge
- Municipal trade tax
It then calculates the effective tax rate, showing what percentage of your total profit goes toward taxes. This makes it easy to compare cities, evaluate tax efficiency, and plan business location strategies in Germany.
Visual Tax Breakdown
To improve clarity, the calculator also displays an interactive tax chart, helping you understand how much of your tax burden comes from federal versus municipal taxes.
